San Francisco I used to go to the SF Public Library to do research once in awhile when I was in college. It's a beautiful building with a massive periodical section down in the basement. But the last time I was there, there were a bunch of homeless camped out all along the whole square. I know times are tough but why ruin a good thing? Oakland's already a dump, they should go hang out there. Golden Gate Park is beautiful. Didn't see any bums around.
